[FreeNX-kNX] can't get freenx file sharing to work

Hi all
I'm running freeNX 0.4.4-1.fdr.0 on fc4 x86_64 (actually within a VServer) w/Client 1.5.0-138 (win32 running on WinXPP). I'm accessing my KDE desktop successfully (I recently upgraded to KDE 3.5.0-0.1.fc4).
However, I can't get my shared folder on the terminal station to work. After creating a shared folder (e.g. c:\shareddata ) and putting this folder in the options dialog of the NX client (as the instructions suggest), I just get a corresponding subfolder under my KDE shared folders, but nothing gets smbmounted.
My configuration accesses the remote desktop through a NAT router. Is this possible or not? Do I need to open other ports than SSH? I thought everything would get through the SSH tunnel. I get a relatively long timeout after logging in before KDE initializes completely. I suspect that KDE is trying to mount my folder and does not succeed, however, I don't know where to look for an error log. The freeNX server log does not show anything.
Any help on how to troubleshoot this issue would much be appreciated.
Regards
--Marcel
