Problem solved:

The announcement neglects to mention that nxcompext has
been updated from 1.5.0-16 to 1.5.0-18. Since the down-
load link also didn't work at the time I posted my com-
pile error (and stayed broken for at least several
hours), I assumed it was simply a typo on the download
page rather than an actual updated component.

The build problem disappeared with nxcompext-1.5.0-18.
