The install log should be in your mozilla profile directory:

  ~/.mozilla/<your profile name>/<some profile
directory.slt>/install.log

for example, mine is in ~/.mozilla/default/oz47r80z.slt/install.log

I have tested using Mozilla 1.2.1 on Red Hat 9.  I tested with some
Debian-based distros with Firefox, but not Mozilla.  If you can find the
log and send it to me I can probably tell you what is wrong.
