Alexander Kellett Announces Rubydium
====================================

   Not so long ago Richard Dale announced Korundum
[http://dot.kde.org/1095644599/], a RAD environment for KDE that makes
developing desktop applications extremely fun and easy. Now, another
KDE developer has announced Rubydium
[http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/113779],
his efforts to bring Just-In-Time optimisations to the Ruby
[http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/] runtime. Could Ruby become a serious
contender for KDE application development? The combination of Ruby, KDE
and a fast runtime could mean serious competition to Java and .Net on
the Linux desktop.
