Quickies: KDEvibes, Zeroconf, New User Guide, Konqi's Background
================================================================

   On Artemio's homepage [http://artemio.net/?p=event&e=2004-05-07] I
read that the new SUSE version 9.1
[http://www.suse.de/en/private/products/suse_linux/index.html] uses
KDEvibes [http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=11269], a
collection of system sounds for the KDE desktop. More system sounds can
be found at KDE-Look.org
[http://www.kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=25]. While looking
around at the excellent KDE Wiki [http://wiki.kde.org/] I found this
page [http://wiki.kdenews.org/tiki-index.php?page=Zeroconf+in+KDE] about
integrating Zeroconf [http://www.zeroconf.org/] into KDE Apps. Recently
the project [http://sourceforge.net/projects/zeroconfcompnts] was
registered at SourceForge. Although you are not a perfect English
speaker and you have no knowlegde of DocBook you do have the skill to
explain something fairly clearly in a non-technical manner? You could
help writing the new userguide which recently appeared in KDE CVS
[http://webcvs.kde.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/kdenonbeta/doc/userguide-tng/].
This is the start of a complete rewrite of the old KDE User Guide
[http://www.kde.org/documentation/userguide/]. You can catch a glimpse
[http://users.ox.ac.uk/~chri1802/kde/userguide-tng/] of the new
userguide. So don't wait but apply for that job
[kde-doc-english at kde.org]. To finish Quickies I dug up some info about
Konqi [http://www.kde.org/areas/people/konqi.html] and his background
[http://dot.kde.org/1060594515/1060670079/1060676522/1060686286/1060700210/1060890441/].
