Delete file or album without deleting files?

Hi Nadine,

Your answer is, I think, only partially correct and could also be quite 
confusing. You are talking about having a collection that is pointing at 
a single directory with no sub-directories. In that case you can remove 
the collection from digikam without it deleting the files on the hard 
disk. But that is not the most common way to organise files. eg I have a 
single collection that contains all the images that digikam manages and 
they exist in multiple levels of sub-directories under that collection 
which are shown by digikam as albums. If I use digikam to delete any of 
those albums that are sub-directories of the collection then all the 
files and the sub-directory will be deleted from the file system.
