Building HTML Photo Emails

I'm new to digiKam, so I don't know whether this is the right way to go
about raising this question, but here goes:

I have been a long-time user of Photoshop Elements for managing my digital
photo library, but Adobe has forced me to look elsewhere for multiple
reasons. The first is the new pricing model for current versions, which
makes the license only good for three years. The second, and most important
issue came about after a feature that last appeared in Photoshop Elements 12
was discontinued. That feature was the ability to build emails with reduced
size photos embedded within (not attached as files) and output them via
Outlook, where I could add editorial in between each "inline" photo. I
have experimented with some of the HTML capabilities in digiKam, but haven't
figured out how I can make that work. Any suggestions or thoughts would be
greatly appreciated.

In the meantime I find that digiKam does a very good job of managing my
library of over 75,000 digital images.

Thanks
