Collections?

How can I implement collections in DK8.8.0 appimage with
sqlite on Manjaro.

I have over 200+ albums organized by type (people | animals | places
| things) then by sub-type like family | others...

After many years, I'm doing all the sorting, tagging and reorganizing.

I've kind of creating the equivalent of collections, that span my
albums, through tags and save the searches.

This is where my problem starts. I have quite a few searches with
many fairly similar just some minor variations. 

Is there a way of grouping all these saved searches?

OR 

is there a better way of doing the concept of collections?
