I forgot to mention, I'm running digiKam 8.6 under Windows 11.

Subject: Rebuilding training data seems to go off the rails

Before I enter a bug report, I wanted to make sure I wasn't making some ghastly mistake that's correctible. I started rebuilding the training data and it was going along OK when suddenly I noticed that it was tagging a bunch of unrelated faces to my niece! These faces are not even CLOSE to my niece's face, but they are easily recognizable faces nonetheless. Now, when I click on my niece's face in the People view it has tons of faces that are not my niece, and those other faces are tagged with my niece's name. Is there any easy way to undo this, short of dragging the wrong faces to their proper place in the People view and ignoring any others that aren't my niece? That's gonna take a lot of work. Just FYI, for all other faces retraining and recognition seem to be working just fine.
