numbers are missing from Image Editor sliders

There are no numbers visible on any of the sliders in the Image Editor.
This makes it very difficult to know exactly what I'm doing when I'm
editing. (I'd maybe even go as far as say it makes digikam practically
unusable as an image editing tool.) See attached image for example.

This used to work. IIRC, there were both values displayed when using the up
and down arrows, and you could instantly jump to a value you wanted by
typing it. And looking at the documentation for the Image Editor, it shows
numbers.

This is on digikam 8.5.0, installed via brew, running on macOS 12.6.1. Yes,
I realize my OS version is a bit out of date. I'd be willing to upgrade to
try to solve this problem.

I did just update digikam, but this was happening before the update (I
don't recall the version I was running previously, but it had been a while
since I had updated).
