Problems linking files after reinstalling OS

Hi all!
This is my first message here.
I am using the latest version of Digikam on MacOs.
My problem is that my database seems to work fine, but any fotos no link properly to files on fider after a reinstall of my MacOs due to problems on my OS disc.
When I select any photo and choose the "open in file manager" action, nothing happens. 
The photos are all stored on external discs and they have not been modified in any way.
I am using the same Digikam database and preferences that I used before I formatted the disc, as they were restored from a backup.

Do you know of any way to relink or restore my database so that it works properly?
