Error message on database

Hello,
I am using Digikam on a Mac OS Monterey Version 12.7.6 (a bit old).
Digikam was working fine until I had to abruptly stop it and ever since I am getting the following message:

You have insufucent privilege on the database. 
Following privileges are not assigned to you: CREAT TABLE
Check your privileges on the database and restart digikam.

I have no idea how I fix this.  I love the program, use it a lot and would like to get some help.
