A bit harsh, perhaps... There are many reasons people may want to use snap or 
flatpak (although I find either of those not worth the hassle...)

First thing to do would be to contact the packager (*not* the digikam team), 
as it looks like a path error in the snap.

If that doesn't work, you can switch to the appimage, see if there's a version 
for your OS on OBS (which aren't "official", btw), or compile from the source.
