very slow scan for new items

Hmm, 30 hours for a collection on a local HDD? How many images are there?

Images are found to be identical that were already in the collection and were 
deleted (MGP1668.JPG). Did you have corrupted images when transferring from SD 
card? Have you checked your HDD for errors?
