Unable to import images - suspect gphoto2 not installed. How to test?

I do not fully understand the issue, nor trying to... but it resembles 
of a problem I had with iPhone a year or two ago (now I don't use 
iPhone). Anyway, as a work around I used Rapid Photo Downloader, which 
is a good downloader and worked for me.
