Geotagging map doesn't update on zooming

Hi,

I am trying to geotag several JPEG photos. The map on the geolocation
editor shows up but doesn't update its details if I zoom in or out. It
makes no difference if I switch to Google Maps (my preference) or to
Globo virtual Marble.

I am using the digikam version from current Debian stable: 7.9.0-1+b2

Any insight on this? Would appreciate some help.
