Face recognition in videos

Hi,

 

Can anyone provide some guidance on performing face detection on mp4 video
files with digiKam? I have several various videos in an album (all with
multiple people in them), but when digiKam scans them it doesn't find any
people/faces. I tried right-clicking on them and selecting 'Scan
for/Recognize Faces' and it doesn't find anything or add any tags. I assume
it would create a sidecar XML file to hold the metadata & tags but I can't
find anything. I even tried scanning a video of a TV show episode and it
still says it didn't find anything.

 

Does digiKam support facial recognition in video files? If so, any
suggestions?
