--config works beautifully.
Micro glitch:
"--config <nonexistent file>" annoys DigiKam.
I ran with no digikamrc and without --config, which made a new digikamrc.
I renamed the new digikamrc to "digikamrc1", and "--config digikamrc1"
worked.
I now have two Windows Desktop shortcuts, one with --config digikamrc1,
and the other with --config digikamrc2.
