digikam processes running as backround process on windows 11

Hi,

I'm running digikam 8.1.0 on windows 11. Database is SQLite, there are
70.000 pictures (most jpeg, some raw, or png). Also there are 4000 videos
mostly mp4.
I started my computer. Actually, I haven't opened digikam yet. In windows
task manager is listed a background process "Advanced digital photo
management application" . Process utilization is approximately 30 % CPU and
on "digikam"  usimng  approximately  1-2% CPU . In past I had started "face
recoginiton" and also had started "Rebuild thumbnails".
When I start digikam, in task mnager it is also listed as "Apps" with 4 sub
processes. In Main Window it says "No active process".  Not all thumbnails
are shown. Changing albums is very slow,sometimes like "hanging up". Now I
close digikam app (menu), the background process is still running.
Now I'm wondering what are the running backgrund tasks doing. Is it "face
recoginiton" and "Rebuild thumbnails"?  Must I wait until they have done
their job and have to accept the high cpu usage?
