Mouse cursor size is tiny on high DPI screen

Hi,

Using the flatpak, version 8.5.0, in Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon, 16" screen
resolution 3664x2290.

When moving the cursor over the application it changes to a very small size
that is very hard to see. I had this problem before, but in previous
versions I was able to correct this by setting env variable XCURSOR_SIZE=48
in Flatseal so Qt would use a larger cursor. But with the latest update
this does not seem to work any more.
If you google this you find a lot such issues with applications that use
Qt. Only solutions i found point to XCURSOR_SIZE, but this is not not
working any more.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I cannot believe this has not been fixed yet after such a long time. This
is a major usability issue. I can basically not use the application any
more because i cannot see my cursor.
