Mariadb on NAS with multiple OS (Windows, LInux, MacOS)

Hello,

I am trying to get digiKam 8.3.0 running using Mariadb (MySQL) on a NAS.
I previously had 8.1.0, with around 47k pictures, face recognition, etc,
and using SQLite. I loaded 8.3.0 (LInux; AppImage) to get MySQL Server
connection working, and do the database migration. It seemed to work.

I then load digiKam 8.3.0 onto a Macbook, connect to the database server
(it's running Mariadb 10). digiKam loads, but does not display most of
the thumbnails, and cannot access any pictures. When I look at
Properties of the photos, it shows FilePath as "???/<filename>". Clearly
something is not configured right, but what? The Linux and MacOS mount
points are different (and I don't want to mess with the MacOS get the
mount point to be the same). It should be possible to configure the
database to allow multiple connections from multiple computers (using
different mount points), right? Is there a tutorial on this? (I've
searched, but cannot find one).

Much appreciation for any help.

Marcus W
