Missing thumbnails

Hi Gilles

I have about 4,000 images in my collections. They consist of dng, pef,
arw, tif and jpg formats. These files are in different collections, one
for each format. The collections are on an external drive. The problem
affects all these collections. However, some thumbnails (about 10% ) in
all these collections are displayed correctly. Rest are missing.

It's a one TB drive with more than 500 GB free. So disk space is not a
problem.

Are the thumbnails stored in thumbnails-digikam.db? Will deleting this
and the thumbnails-digikam.db-journal file create the thumbnails all
over again. Interestingly, the time stamp  on both the files is
yesterday indicating that all the refresh operations I have done today
have had no effect.

Do update on the next course of action.
