[digiKam-users] Can't find duplicate images anymore

Can someone help me with my question below?  I've been trying to make it
work and I've made zero progress.

I tried deleting the similarity database and letting digikam rebuild
it.  No change.

I tried turning on logging and looking for a clue.  If "Restrict to" is
set to "Only Selected Tab", "One Of", or "Tags but not albums", then
clicking "Find duplicates" returns immediately and produces these log lines:

digikam.geoiface: ----
digikam.general: Stacked View Mode :  0
digikam.general: Using  12  CPU core to run threads
digikam.general: Action Thread run  12  new jobs
digikam.geoiface: ----
digikam.general: Event is dispatched to KDE desktop notifier
digikam.general: Cancel Main Thread

If I select "Both" or "Albums but not tags", then the operation will
appear in the UI to run, but stays stuck at 0% for a long time (tens of
minutes) and produces these log lines:

digikam.geoiface: ----
digikam.general: Stacked View Mode :  0
digikam.general: Using  12  CPU core to run threads
digikam.general: Action Thread run  1  new jobs
digikam.dbjob: No image ids passed for duplicates search
digikam.geoiface: ----

I tried running from an AppImage.  It runs the same.

Can someone help me please? Should I be asking somewhere else?
