4 reboots later I'm a little, but not much, schmartder
the blkid in grubs boot menu is for a partition on /dev/sdb.
Now that I have a working boot, although it logged me into kde/plasma
this time, i am going to see if I can fix grub.conf with the correct bklid.
Except now, /boot/grub/grub.cfg has the correct blkid. ???????
And df says I AM NOW on /dev/sda ???????
So I run the new 8.1.0 digiKam, select import, select new, get 6 pix in
orange borders, select a new folder, take snapshot attached, click on
download and the orange borders are cleared, but no new pix make it to
my Pictures directory. I just spent half an hour looking at all of them.
So lets see what was logged to the konsole behind digiKam. Move its
window out of the way, the orange surround is back for those 6 pix, and
the konsole error looks the same.
