Default Import Folder

What sets the default directory for imports? These days it is stuck on
$HOME/pictures/2023/2023-01-04/aperture
comparison/ugly hedgehog and I'd really like it to be just
$HOME/pictures/2023. I cannot find a setting for it. See attached
screenshot.
