[digiKam-users] Remote connect issue with DK 7.9

Hi all,

Is anyone else having issues with 7.9 not connecting to a remote server
running MariaDB?

As background, I have successfully installed MariaBD and digikam on a Mac
Mini. Digikam connects nicely to its database on the localhost. I have
laptop on the same network that also runs Digikam, and I want to connect it
to the database on the Mac Mini. But no matter what, I can’t get it to
work. Sequel Pro, a Mac client installed on the laptop, has no problem
connecting to the Digikam database on the server! That leads me to think
the problem is with Digikam or how I’m using it.

Any ideas?
