video stuttering

Hi,

I'm on linux mint 21.2 and digiKam 8.3* but this issue has been there forever I think:


Whenever I preview a video either in normal mode or in fullscreen, it typically stutters a great deal.

If i open it in another program with F4, like default viewer celluloid / MPV its runs perfectly smooth.

I've tried various settings under settings/Video/Decoder but to no avail.

Is there something to be done?
Is this typical behaviour?
