Upgrades to Digikam 8.2.0 on windows 10 and crashes

I have just upgraded to version 8.2.0 on a windows 10 platform which 
itself is upto date.
To install it I first removed a couple of older versions sing uninstall. 
Once clean I did my install.
I opened the program and it used the last search I had been using in 
version 8.1
I went to an image and attempted to face tag a person, I draw the box 
and then started to type the name  which starts with a Y the software 
crashed.

When I reopened the software and went back to the image (1136 - so I 
don't forget)  the new face box was there I type Y again and it crashed 
again

Not sure how to get a debug trace on a windows system
