Thank you for the test image. The TIFF is a BTF image, more precisely a
BigTIFF. A BigTIFF has a 64-bit image file format. Exiv2 does not currently
support this.
Also, ExifTool currently only supports reading metadata. This means that even
with digiKam-8.0.0 and ExifTool support when writing, no metadata can be
changed in this BTF image.
You can open the image in the digiKam image editor and save it again as a
TIFF, then everything works, this should also work with the BQM.
