[digiKam-users] Running 2 instances of DigiKam?

Hi,

Opening 2 instances is possible, else we had a singleton mechanism in the code.

The most important is : 1 first instance is a master on the database,
other one can read only.

Under Linux, and Linux only with a desktop and native version (not
AppImage bundle), the DBus interface is used to sync slave instances
about changes done in the database. Instances are a little bit
synchronized, but I must admit that I haven't checked this feature
since a while. So take care.

Q: Instead of using 2 digiKam instances to compare images+metadata,
why not use the Light Table ?
