[digiKam-users] Drag and drop a thumbnail onto an external program

You can drag and drop a thumbnail to another program (e.g. Paint, VLC, Blender, ...). Some programs understand the generated URI from Digikam eg File:///my-dir/my-file.
Some programs however (eg Blender)  need a genuine Windows file path (c:\my-dir\my-file).
Is there a setting or a way to alter Digikam so that it creates a real  Windows path when drag/drop a file into another program.
