[digiKam-users] First contact to the community (Gilles Caulier)

Hello Michel,
(If you please transfert this message to Gilles)

Thanks for your proposal to review my translation but it's still too early,

In fact, I think I can actually provide you with several documents at
the end of November, I did say several documents because I'm going to
segment the current document into several parts:

1-a user manual describing only the functions of the image manager and
the image editor,

2-an installation and first connection manual,

3-an import/export tools manual

and several tutorials; on image formats, on colorimetry and profiles,
on methodologies (for example DAM) , and others that I don't think of
yet at this moment...

In fact I don't want to lose the cultural substance of the current
Manual, and also out of respect to those who wrote this manual🙏, of
course there are many shortcomings , bijective inconsistencies between
the Manual and the product but many things in it are very
interressing...

And that is why I will also do the same separation with the english
manual so that you can see another documentation easier to maintain
and also... easier to translate in others languages, I will probably
need help from the community to make screenshots of the English
version (which correspond to the current version 😉!) and many other
things like for example the description in English of the functions
indicated like TO DO ;-) ... For the moment the idea is to offer you
another vision of the digiKam documentation, on the other hand I do
not feel up to it, nor the skills to return to them digiKam's
documentary production mechanisms and I'm sorry about that. Of course,
I would like Gilles to read this email, which I consider to be the
pillar of this community of men and women of good will 😊
 Best regards
Jean Pierre
