It seems to me you have two options, but, not using slide show. In
Digikam-Settings-Views-Icons make sure "Show Digikam rating" is ticked
on. btw I have them all ticked on.
First option is to make sure your album Trash is empty for the album you
are working on. Start preview then using the keyboard hit delete to move
photo to Trash or right-arrow key to move to next photo. (On the first
photo, tick "Don't asked again") I use this method most of the time. I
can go back into Trash and re-review thumbnails before final deletion.
Second option is similar, but, instead of delete use control+1 for 1
star, control+2 for 2 stars and so on. Then sort items by star rating. I
find this less useful for culling the photos. You could also reconfigure
the keyboard to use a single key for stars, but, I haven't done that.
