The same issue here as well. At some point Gilles indicated, in a reply to my email addressing this very issue, that there was a lot of interest in addressing  this (video playback), but, unfortunately, up to now, at least on Windows, the results are not acceptable yet. And, there is no a workaround, at least as far as I am aware of. Theo
