[digiKam-users] Dynamic albums

It remains to be seen whether there is a mandate for dynamic links. For
those interested Maik Qualmann described a work around using symlinks that
could behave like a scratchpad dynamic album for sorting and recall into
the MainViewer for modules such as slideshow.
Find that description at the bug post:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449968
I have failed to accomplish the described steps and need help. It
involves exporting symlinks to a target local directory and then pointing
an album to the same directory where digikam should be able to process
those symlinks (and even tag them further) ....sort of a power of alternate
tagging and processing. Problem: the target directory is included in
albums (by name in sidebar) and by entry in digikam4 database. BUT I only
have "0" images recognized. I have 1 placed symlinks created in system
filemanager and 2 symlinks exported from a digikam selection (symlinks from
system are over twice the file size of the digikam generated symlinks
-wonder why?) I exported as regular not "relative"symlinks (and I am not
sure how a relative symlink would be more discoverable; I have done refresh
multiple times.
Help appreciated as this sounds like a powerful sorting and processing
method
