[digiKam-users] How to write XMPs in bulk

DK 7.3.0 appimage on Opensuse 15.3

I know that that I can write the image XMPs by selecting the album
and item > write metadata

The problem is that I have:
/photos/ then 21 albums then some of these albums have
sub-albums/folders 5 deep (about 50,000 photos).

Is there a way of selecting everything and letting the computer run
for a few hours to write all the XMPs?
