[digiKam-users] 7.2RC Windows not writing geolocation to files

Running 7.2RC on Windows 10. Just upgraded to 7.2 from 6.4 and am continuing
to geotag, tag, caption and keyword my collection. To have metadata written
directly to jpegs (no xmp sidecar) and to xmp sidecars for raw files I have
"Write to XMP sidecar for read-only item only" and "Sidecar file
names...programs" selected.

I randomly spot check my work by dragging a photo (or sidecar) to exiftool.
Tags, captions and keywords appear to be written correctly to jpegs and raw
sidecar files. However geolocation tags are not being written to either
jpegs nor sidecars. Coordinates are being written in the geolocation editor
and files are being displayed in the right sidebar map pane.

Is this something that can be fixed in DK, or is there something I should be
doing? Could this be related to the error message "This page cannot load
Google Maps correctly"? In relation to that message, and even though DK
appears to assign coordinates internally (just not write them out to files),
can I continue to use the Google Maps interface for geolocating, pending a
solution to writing coordinates out to files? Thanks for your help with
this.
