[digiKam-users] DigiKam crashing

Hi Giles,

I created the environment variable QT_LOGGING_RULES digikam*=true . Downloaded and ran DebugView from SysInternals. Downloaded and installed the debug version of Digikam. Ran DigiKam until it crashed. I get no crash log in AppData\Local. One thing to note, I did not put “” around the environment variable name and value.

Cheers,

Hal

Hi,

This kind of crash is probably relevant of a change in your host windows system. Did you install or enable virus protection ?

Can you share the console trace captured with DebugView Microsoft tool as described here :

I’m running DigiKam 7.2.0 on Win 10. It was working perfectly for a while and then all of a sudden it started crashing after a few minutes. No error or indication, just shuts down. I tried uninstalling, renaming the DB files in Pictures, and reinstalling. Now when it starts, a dialog pops up saying scanning for albums (or something to that effect) and that runs for a few minutes and then the shutdown happens again. Is there anything I can do?
