You might be able to do this with Photini. It accepts variables in at least
some cases, for instance automating the "digititized" field as the
copyright year. (I asked if this were possible in digiKam but have not
heard anything, so I throw a directory of pictures from digiKam to
Photini, edit the metadata there, and save it, and the two seem to work
well together and the workflow isn't unduly burdensome.)
