[digiKam-users] Scanning with 7.1.0 appimage not working

I'm running Digikam 7.1.0 appimage on Ubuntu 18.0.4. When I attempt to 
scan via DK, it says there are no devices. But I can scan via XSANE just 
fine. I would prefer if possible to scan directly into Digikam. Is this 
a known problem, or is there any additional configuration I need to do?
