[digiKam-users] How to set the input method for Asian languages in digiKam

I am evaluating digiKam. 
I am an English speaker, but bilingual.
I want to be able to input things like album names and tags in an Asian language. 
I am running digiKam on a gnome desktop and it otherwise seems to run fine.
How can I change the input method to another language while inside digiKam?
