[digiKam-users] Problem with batch rename

OK so just tested again and attempted to both rename and remove metadata
(just xmp video metadata selected) from 24 photos and output to a
separate album. The rename was
Prom-[meta:Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal].[ext]. The photos were all added
to the new album but the rename just called the Prom-.JPG which ends up
with one file called that and all the others called Prom-_v1.jpg through
to Prom-_v23.jpg.
So I think the rename function is buggy.
Can anyone explain how I can achieve my aim please in digikam. I know
there are tools under windows but I'm a Linux user and want a batch
program to do this.
