I suppose you meant to respond to David earlier.

Anyway, I found why that happens. It's possibly not related to David's issue
(so I apologize for hijacking this thread). It might be a bug, I can report
it if you want.

Although Digikam shows the exif "Original date and time" date in the
miniature view (correct), it uses the exif "Creation date and time" for
sorting. It's not a big deal actually.
