Hi,

You don't miss anything.

XCF and PSD file preview are handled by KImgIO thumbnailer plugins from
KDE. Files are integrated and in application path (inside the bundle), but
the plugins are not loaded at runtime, and i don't know why exactly. There
is already a report in Bugzilla about this topic.
