[digiKam-users] DK doesn't start

DK 5.9.0 appimage

I must have done something and screwed up.

My main drive was going on the fritz, so I replaced it and
reinstalled most of it.

Now when I start I get: 

$ downloads/appimages/digikam-5.9.0-01-x86-64.appimage 
-- digiKam AppImage Bundle
-- Use 'help' as CLI argument to know all available options
digikam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libfontconfig.so.1: undefined symbol: FT_Done_MM_Var
$

and that's it

digikam4.db
recognition.db
thumbnails-digikam.db

are in the same directory as dk.5.9. appimage

What should I do to figure it out?
