Digikam in Ubuntu 17.10

I would like to submit a question, since I did not find the item in your
Faq.
I was been using Digikam on Ubuntu 16.04. Since my upgrade to 17.10, I was
able to install Digikam by opening in Ubuntu.x org and using synaptic, but
the application is not fully functional: it lacks for exemple of the
extensions for exportation, and the home page  is not complete lacking the
upper bar of commands.  Would you have any suggestion? Thank you. Gianfranco
