PopUp Box on Image Thumbnails

When I mouse over the image thumbnails, a yellowish pop-up box appears with
three headings; File Properties, Photograph Properties, DigiKam Properties.
If I try to mouse over the box, it disappears; mouse back over the image and
it reappears again.
There is no information whatsoever in this box and it is only an annoyance
to me.
I have looked but cannot find a way to turn off this box; is it possible to
turn off this behavior ?
