Linux Mint install

Motherboard arrived a week ago and I finally got around to installing it
last night. So far, so good.

Digikam shows up as a graphics application in the (Linux Mint) system Menu.
Clicking on it gets me a *Configure - digikam / Collections Setting* dialog
box.
Clicking OK gets me a tiny splash screen that disappears almost instantly.
It shows version number 4.0.0
