digikam 5.1.0 start-up hanging on OSX

It seems I get no further with digikam. I have now opted to use the new
"Photos" (Version 2.0 (3130.0.240)) integrated into Sierra in the mean
time. It works well atm. I can export all to digiKam later then. I need
to get some work done :-/

Any new info on the start problems with digiKam on MacOS Sierra.
