metadata for xcf files

Hello -

I have been using Digikam for years and it all went fine. I recently 
upgraded to version 5 and now, when I try to edit metadata for xcf 
files, the dialogue is completely greyed out. Am I missing something in 
the new configuration? I have already enabled metadata to be saved and 
written in xmp files, and it is showing correctly on the right sidebar, 
but it cannot be edited. Any suggestions?
